The Company’s careful management and thoughtful guidance through some of the industry’s most difficult times – the 1998 Long-Term Capital Management crisis, the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic – created a foundation and instilled a resiliency that few others in the industry can match. As a result, CAPREIT boasts some of the most long-standing and solid relationships in the industry. CAPREIT is and has always been a company with whom others want to do business.
Today, the Company is led by Andrew Kadish (Chief Executive Officer) and Jennifer Kadish Cassell (President). Both joined the Company in the early 2000’s and served in various positions before assuming their current leadership roles. Andrew and Jen used this “start from the bottom” approach to grow into their leadership roles while gaining the respect of the CAPREIT family and outside stakeholders.

Richard “Dick” Kadish
1943 – 2020
Dick Kadish was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CAPREIT. Prior to founding CAPREIT, Mr. Kadish was Group Executive Vice President-Multifamily Acquisition for CRI where he was responsible for the acquisition of properties having an aggregate value of more than $1.5 billion (representing over 52,000 multifamily units). Previously, he served as a Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey. He also served as counsel to and later as Deputy Executive Director of the New Jersey Housing Finance Agency (now New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency). Mr. Kadish was a member of many legal and charitable organizations and served as a director of the National Multifamily Housing Council. He held Juris Doctorate and Master of Arts degrees from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. A beloved husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather, Dick will be remembered for his great love of family, travel, and local sports, particularly the Washington Capitals.
