Rick J. Band is Executive Director, Investments and was one of CAPREIT’s original founders.
With over three decades of experience working in multifamily real estate, Mr. Band, together with the Company’s Chief Investment Officer, leads the Company’s investment team in all facets of the acquisition, financing and disposition process, including sourcing, valuing and negotiating both single asset and portfolio acquisitions, as well as overseeing all property refinancings and dispositions. Additionally, Mr. Band works with the Company’s Chief Investment Officer to develop and implement strategies to continue to expand the Company’s activities in the multifamily arena to include the acquisition and repositioning of affordable, workforce and market rate multifamily properties thru value‐add renovations and management repositioning, as well as expanding the Company’s acquisition activities in the Build-To-Rent space.
Prior to joining CAPREIT in December 1992, Mr. Band served as Vice President of BRW and Associates where he sourced, structured and closed on the acquisition of various types of real estate properties for purposes of providing the clients of the firm with the opportunity to expand their investment portfolios to include proprietary real estate offerings. Mr. Band started his career as an analyst in the Real Estate/Tax Department of Reznick, Fedder and Silverman, PC after receiving a BS in Accounting from the University of Florida Fisher School of Accounting.
